Strengths
4 reasons to book- Avenue-front location — Set on Avenida da Liberdade, the hotel is steps from the old town, the business district, restaurants, and a Metro stop, making it easy to explore Lisbon on foot or by transit.
- Rooftop dining with views — The rooftop restaurant and bar offers a spectacular panorama over the city, with guests singling out the duck dish and the overall experience as a must.
- Pool and garden in the city — An outdoor pool surrounded by a garden provides a green retreat in central Lisbon, with sun loungers and beach umbrellas for a relaxed afternoon.
- Well-equipped, modern rooms — Guest rooms feature coffee machines, air conditioning, soundproofing, and some offer river or city views, with recent refurbishment noted by guests.
–
Worth weighing
4 to weigh- Rooms and cleanliness score lower — While many guests praise the rooms, the 'Rooms and cleanliness' category received a 6, suggesting some inconsistency in maintenance or housekeeping.
- Price and service value questioned — The 'Price and service' category scored a 5, pointing to a perception that value for money or service standards might not match the 5-star price point for some guests.
- Mixed guest ratings despite high average — Although the overall rating is 8.6, individual reviews range from 7 to 9.8, with a couple of reviews scoring lower (7), possibly reflecting varied experiences.
- Paid airport shuttle and valet parking extra — Airport transfers and valet parking come at an additional cost, which could add to the overall expense of the stay.

The bottom line
Tivoli Avenida Liberdade Lisboa delivers a classic 5-star experience with a standout rooftop bar, a pool and garden, and an unrivalled position on Lisbon's grand avenue. While the value-for-money perception and room consistency could be improved, it remains a solid choice for those prioritising location and amenities.
8.6A strong pick for location and rooftop views, though value is questioned.
